If you are seeing your own location rather than the phone you want to track, this means you've installed the app onto the wrong phone. No problem, this is easily fixed!
- First, delete the app off of the wrongly added device. For an Apple device, hold the app icon down and click the "X" when it appears. For an Android device, hold the app icon down and drag it to the bin.
- Next, log into your Device Tracker Plus account and click the bin icon next to the wrongly added device. You'll then see a pop up asking you to confirm you want to remove the device. Click "ok".
- Now click the "Add device tab to lead you to the same set up steps as the first time around.
When you reach step two, enter the number of the device you want to track, so for example, if you’d like to track your child’s phone, enter their number here.
When you've entered their number and clicked "Send app", a SMS message will be sent to their phone including a link allowing you to download the Device Tracker Plus app onto their phone. Remember, you'll need the device to hand so you can see when the message has been received!
When you've received the link click "Yes" on step 2 of the set up guide.
Now install the app onto the device.
When you've installed the app onto their phone, login with the credentials you used to set up the account. After login, you can simply close the app.
Now, go back to your online account and click "Yes" on step three.
You should now see the correct device listed on your account and be ready to begin tracking.
